With Meindl Identity®, you know precisely which path your boots took before finding their way to you. Meindl is the first shoe manufacturer worldwide to offer complete transparency and accountability during the production process. The story begins on an ecological mountain pasture and ends in our manufacturing plant, where your Meindl Identity® footwear is created with lots of love for detail.
For over 300 years, Meindl has been making boots of the highest quality in Kirchanschöring, in the beautiful region of Chiemgau. The Meindl Identity® boot unites tradition, shoemaking craftmanship and innovative spirit.

We provide you with a detailed certificate of origin for the leather used in the uppers. This allows us to offer complete production transparency – starting from the alpine pastures on which the cattle graze and live, through the tannery, to the production of the shoes.
We have great trust in and respect for our products. We do not take leather for granted, nor do we take the easy route in our production. In creating the perfect style, it is not unusual that there are over 200 individual production steps.

We have great respect for nature. That’s why we place emphasis on short transport routes, cattle from organic farmers and a gentle tanning process in the production of your Meindl Identity® boots.

Experienced craftmanship, production in Germany and of course our expert shoemakers ensure your Meindl Identity® boots are made from workmanship of particularly high quality.

Quality right from the start – this thought characterises the whole idea behind the Meindl Identity® product range – and we take enormous pride in it.
Production
Over 200 individual production steps are required to complete the finished boot. From the skins to the finished, it takes three weeks to manufacture your Meindl Identity. As the availability of leather from organic cattle in the region is limited, Meindl produces only 25,000 pairs of Meindl Identity® boots each year.
