Everything begins with nature.

    Step

The alpine meadow.

Just like everything in life, you only get out of something what you put into it. And that’s exactly the reason why cows reared by Meindl Identity® farmers graze on the loveliest of ecological alpine pastures in Bavaria and Salzburg. This promotes organic diversity on the meadows and makes the cow happy.

    Step

The farmer.

All Meindl Identity® farmers work according to biological principles. Sustainability and a holistic mindset are more than just words here. This has enabled us to find the right partners and to manufacture a unique boot. And, as an extra bonus, the short transport routes are also environmentally friendly.

    Step

The tannery.

The leather used in Meindl Identity® is cowhide of premium quality. The high ecological standards can only be implemented as a result of our own optimised tanning procedure. This procedure doesn’t harm the environment and our leather lining is chrome-free. Here, the Meindl Identity® leather is labelled with its Identity® number and everything is documented.

    Step

The production.

In every Meindl Identity® boot, you’ll find the innovative energy and experience from 300 years of shoemaking tradition. We manufacture in our European factories and have the highest standards of labour. It still never ceases to impress us that it’s people standing at and operating the machines.
